Game #63: Colorado at Tucson

The Roadrunners wrap up Fan Appreciation Weekend Saturday night at the Tucson Arena, as they’ll once again host the Colorado Eagles for the final meeting of the season between Tucson and Colorado. The Roadrunners will be looking for back-to-back wins over the Colorado Avalanche AHL affiliate, and fourth consecutive win against Pacific Division opponents. As part of Fan Appreciation Weekend, the Roadrunners will be hosting a Hockey and Hops event starting at 4 p.m.

Game Recap: Colorado (3) at Tucson (4)

Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Roadrunners hosted the Colorado Eagles Friday night for the first of back-to-back matchups at the Tucson Arena. The Roadrunners defeated the Eagles by a score of 4-3 with goals by Cam Crotty, Victor Soderstrom, Cameron Hebig, and Terry Broadhurst. Goaltender Rasmus Korhonen earned his first American Hockey League win in front of a packed Tucson crowd with 37 saves. Friday’s contest with Colorado marked the start of Fan Appreciation Weekend in the Old Pueblo, as the Roadrunners wore their fan favorite Kachina jerseys in the win.

Game #62: Colorado at Tucson

The Roadrunners return to the Tucson for the penultimate home stand of the 2021-2022 regular season, as they’ll host the Colorado Eagles Friday and Saturday night at the Tucson Arena. The Eagles come to the Old Pueblo for the first time since the opening home stand of 2022 on January 8 and 9. Friday’s series opener also marks the beginning of Fan Appreciation Weekend presented by Dave and Buster’s, with pregame and postgame parties taking place at Dillinger Brewing Company. Fans can enjoy $5 Roadrunner Reds at Dillinger, as well as $2 popcorn available for purchase all weekend at the Tucson Arena.

Game Recap: Tucson (3) at Rockford (5)

Rockford, Illinois – The Tucson Roadrunners wrapped up both the weekend series and season series with the Rockford IceHogs Sunday afternoon at the BMO Harris Bank Arena. The Chicago Blackhawks AHL affiliate jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the opening 34:33 on their home ice, before Tucson battled back to pull to within one goal late in the third period. An empty-net score for Rockford with 44 seconds remaining put the game away for the IceHogs at 5-3. Goaltender Rasmus Korhonen made his North American Professional debut for the Roadrunners, as the 19-year-old stopped 24 shots faced.

Game #61: Tucson at Rockford

The Roadrunners will wrap up the weekend series with the Rockford IceHogs Sunday afternoon at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The IceHogs took the back-and-forth series opener in Rockford on Saturday by a score of 4-2. Sunday’s series finale marks the fourth and final meeting with the Chicago Blackhawks AHL affiliate in the last nine days to close out the season series, as well as the last out-of-division contest for the Roadrunners this year.

Rockford, Illinois – The Tucson Roadrunners took on the Rockford IceHogs Saturday afternoon at the BMO Harris Bank Center in Rockford, Illinois. The matchup marked the third meeting between the Roadrunners and IceHogs in the last five games, as well at the first of back-to-back contests with the Chicago Blackhawks AHL affiliate this weekend. In the Roadrunners first trip to Rockford since February 2019, the IceHogs took the series opener by a score of 4-2. Both of Tucson’s goals were scored while on the man-advantage by former IceHog Terry Broadhurst and Colin Theisen. Goaltender Ivan Prosvetov was between the pipes for Tucson and stopped 24 shots.

Game #60: Tucson at Rockford

The Roadrunners head to Rockford this weekend for the first time since February 2019 to take on the IceHogs Saturday and Sunday at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The pair of contests with the Chicago Blackhawks AHL affiliate mark the final two out-of-division games this season for Tucson. The Roadrunners enter their fifth and sixth-straight games against Central Division opponents, as they’ll meet the IceHogs on Saturday for the third time in five games. A win would give Tucson their third-straight road victory, marking the longest streak this season.

Game Recap: Iowa (5) at Tucson (1)

Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Roadrunners wrapped up a four-game home stand Wednesday night, as they took on the Iowa Wild for the second-straight contest at the Tucson Arena. The Roadrunners scored a goal in the opening frame for a fifth consecutive outing, but Iowa netted the following four goals to take the series finale by a score of 5-1. Ivan Prosvetov returned between the pipes for Tucson after a start in the NHL with the Arizona Coyotes on Monday and made 34 saves in his fourth career start against Iowa.

Game #59: Iowa at Tucson

The Roadrunners wrap up their four-game home stand Wednesday night with the second of two games against the Iowa Wild at the Tucson Arena. The Wild took the series opener in their first trip to the Old Pueblo since October 2019. Wednesday’s contest marks the fourth and final meeting between Tucson and Iowa on the season.

Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Roadrunners met with the Iowa Wild Tuesday night for the first matchup of a two-game series at the Tucson Arena. The Roadrunners scored first for the fourth-straight contest, but Iowa battled back to take the series opener 6-1. Ben McCartney tallied the goal on Tucson’s first power-play of the night for his 14th time lighting the lamp this season. Goaltender Josef Korenar was in net for his second consecutive outing with Tucson and recorded 36 saves.

Game #58: Iowa at Tucson

The Roadrunners continue their four-game home stand with a pair of midweek matchups against the Iowa Wild Tuesday and Wednesday at the Tucson Arena. Tuesday’s series opener marks the Minnesota Wild AHL affiliate’s first trip to the Old Pueblo since October 2019, and third total meeting between Tucson and Iowa on the season. The back-to-back contests with the Wild will conclude an all-Central Division home stand for the Roadrunners, after a pair of weekend games against the Rockford IceHogs Friday and Saturday.

Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Roadrunners took on the Rockford IceHogs in the second game of a back-to-back series Saturday night at the Tucson Arena. Ben McCartney, Stephen Harper and Cam Crotty found the back of the net for the Roadrunners, as the IceHogs came away with a 6-3 victory to close out the weekend in the Old Pueblo. Josef Korenar was between the pipes for the Roadrunners for the first time since March 5, as he stopped 21 shots on goal. Saturday night also marked Autism Acceptance Night at the Tucson Arena, with the first 1,000 fans receiving a sensory pop pad courtesy of Pizza Hut.
