Tucson Roadrunners Road Ahead: First Round Against The Firebirds
The Tucson Roadrunners will head on the road to take on the Coachella Valley Firebirds in the First Round of the 2023 Calder Cup Playoffs. All three games of the best-of-three series will take place at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, where the Roadrunners and Firebirds previously met for four contests out of the eight-game season series. Tucson became the first team to defeat the AHL affiliate of the Seattle Kraken in their new home on December 20, 2022 with a 3-2 win that saw forward Mike Carcone factor into all three Roadrunners goals for a three-point performance (2g 1a). Carcone led both teams in the season series with seven goals and four assists for 11 total points in eight games played. His seven goals against the Firebirds were the most by any Roadrunners skater against a single opponent on the year.

Coyotes Recall Michael Kesselring, Roadrunners Sign Michael Lombardi
Tucson, Arizona – The Arizona Coyotes and Tucson Roadrunners announced Thursday that the Coyotes have recalled defenseman Michael Kesselring from Tucson, and the Roadrunners have signed forward Michael Lombardi to an Amateur Tryout Contract (ATO). Kesselring joins the Arizona lineup ahead of their season finale Thursday night against the Vancouver Canucks, while Lombardi comes to Tucson from Quinnipiac University, where he and the Bobcats captured their first ever National Championship with a 3-2 overtime win against top-seeded Minnesota on Saturday, April 8.
Mike Carcone Named To AHL First All-Star Team
Tucson, Arizona – The American Hockey League announced on Thursday the 2022-2023 AHL First and Second All-Star Teams, featuring Roadrunners forward Mike Carcone as a member of the First All-Star Team. Carcone is the first player in Tucson franchise history to be named to an AHL First All-Star Team after he became the first Roadrunner to win a Player of the Month Award earlier this season for December 2022.
Jan Jenik Recalled By Arizona Coyotes
Scottsdale, Arizona – The Arizona Coyotes and General Manager Bill Armstrong announced Friday that forward Jan Jenik has been recalled by the Coyotes from the Tucson Roadrunners. The move represents Jenik’s second call-up of the season, after making his season debut with Arizona on December 17, 2022, against the Buffalo Sabres at Mullett Arena.
Tucson Roadrunners Road Ahead: Last Call For The Regular Season
The Roadrunners wrap up the 2022-2023 regular season at the Tucson Arena this weekend with a two-game set against the San Jose Barracuda. San Jose comes to the desert for the first time since November 22 and were eliminated from Playoff contention by the Roadrunners on Saturday. Tucson has a 3-2-1-0 record against the AHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks this season, with two of the three wins coming by at least three goals. The Roadrunners and Barracuda rank first and second in the American Hockey League in total penalty minutes with 361 combined penalty minutes through their first six meetings on the season.

Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Roadrunners punched their ticket to the 2023 Calder Cup Playoffs Saturday night with a standings point in overtime against the Texas Stars at Tucson Arena. The Roadrunners trailed 4-0 with 2:19 remaining in the second period before scoring four unanswered goals, including two 37 seconds apart in the final 2:41 of regulation, to force overtime and earn the final standings point required to clinch the Playoffs.

The Tucson Roadrunners, AHL affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes, will close out the 2022-2023 regular season with a four-game home stand at the Tucson Arena that includes back-to-back weekend series against the Texas Stars (Dallas Stars) and San Jose Barracuda (San Jose Sharks).
Tucson Roadrunners Road Ahead: Eyes On The Prize
The Tucson Roadrunners wrap up their six-game road trip Wednesday night with the eighth and final matchup of the season against the Henderson Silver Knights. Tucson enters the week with a 3-1-1-0 record to begin the trip, sitting comfortably six points above the AHL playoff line with five games remaining and each of their last four contests taking place on home ice. The Roadrunners have a 4-3-0-0 record against the AHL affiliate of the Vegas Golden Knights through seven meetings this season with wins in each of their last two contests on February 18 and 19 at the Tucson Arena. Following the midweek outing from The Dollar Loan Center in Henderson, the Roadrunners will return home to host the Texas Stars for a two-game series Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8. Tucson and the AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars have not faced off since December 31, 2022, while the Roadrunners have not hosted the Stars at the Tucson Arena since October of 2021.
