The Roadrunners are coming off of their best homestand of the season going 4-0 in four games and outscoring their opponents 20-6; which is the best goal differential for the Roadrunners in a homestand that is four games or more this season. This included three of those four home games where Tucson scored 10 total goals in the third period while just allowing two goals in the same span. This also included two games where the Roadrunners scored four goals in the third period; marking 14 total periods this season that Tucson has scored three goals or more in a period. In addition, when scoring three goals or more in a period the team is undefeated at 11-0-0-0. In the first nine games of March, Tucson is outscoring opponents by a 31-23 mark; which averages to a 3.44 goals for per game and 2.55 goals against per game. The highest goal differential the Roadrunners have had this season came in December where they outscored opponents 47-34 in 11 games; which averaged to 4.27 goals per game and 3.09 goals against.

Four-Game Home Stand:
The Roadrunners return home after their match in Coachella Valley Saturday for a four-game homestand versus the Henderson Silver Knights on Tuesday, March 12 and Wednesday, March 13 and following with a two-game series with the Texas Stars on Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17. The Roadrunners are tied in the season series with Henderson at 3-3 but have snagged eight of 12 possible points versus the Vegas Golden Knights Affiliate having lost two of the three games past regulation. As for Texas, Tucson has not played the Stars since the beginning series of the season on October 13 and October 14 in Texas. The Roadrunners swept the series 2-0 in two one-goal games; marking what would be the Tucson way to win in intense one-goal games; which the team is 19-5-3-2 in this season. In addition, the Roadrunners are 7-2-1-0 versus Central Division opponents.

The Roadrunners enter another three-game week starting with a midweek two-game series on Tuesday, March 6 and Wednesday, March 7 against the Calgary Wranglers; a team Tucson has not seen since November 21 and November 22. The previous and only time these two teams played, Tucson split the series against the Wranglers, who were the top team in the early season Pacific Division at 11-2-1-0 while the Roadrunners were 7-5-0-1. Since that series, Tucson has gone 23-11-2-1 with a third-place spot in the Pacific Division while Calgary has gone 17-16-3-2; losing its first-place hold in the division; dropping to fifth place. The Roadrunners and Wranglers are only separated by two points in the standings entering the series. Tucson then travels to Coachella Valley for the second to last game of the season series vs the Firebirds. This season the Roadrunners are undefeated in Acrisure Arena at 2-0-0-0 and are 3-2-0-1 overall versus the top ranked team in the Pacific Division.

The Roadrunners begin a three-game road trip to finish off February and begin the new month of March with game three of a three-game miniseries against Bakersfield on Wednesday, February 28 and two versus the Henderson Silver Knights on Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2. It’s the start of a very busy Month for the Roadrunners, who have 14 games in 31 days, the most games in a span of a month this season. This includes five midweek games on Tuesday, March 5 and Wednesday, March 6 vs. the Calgary Wranglers, Tuesday, March 11 and Wednesday, March 13 vs. Henderson and a season series finale against the Ontario Reign on Wednesday, March 21. In March of last season, it was a big month for Tucson as they were in six overtime games out of the 12 total matchups the team had; going 7-3-2-0 in the month to help in their late season playoff push.

Three Straight Against Bakersfield:
The Roadrunners kick-off games 48-50 with a three-game series against the Bakersfield Condors; two come at the TCC on Friday, February 23 and Saturday, February 24. The last game of the series will go back to Bakersfield that also begins a three-game road trip on Wednesday, February 28. With the season series tied at 2-2, neither team has won a home game; Tucson was swept back on October 27 and October 28, but has won the last two one-off games in Bakersfield to tie up the season series on December 22 and January 31.
Matthew Villalta recalled by the Arizona Coyotes
Tucson, Arizona- The Arizona Coyotes announced today that goaltender Matthew Villalta has been recalled to the Arizona Coyotes for his first NHL call-up of his career. Villalta becomes the 13th player who has been recalled this season from the Roadrunners to Coyotes.
Tucson Roadrunners Road Ahead: Back For The Rodeo
The Roadrunners return to the TCC after being on the road for five-straight games with the All-Star break in the middle. That stretch of 20 days between home games is the team’s longest of the season. The Roadrunners will kick off Friday, February 16, with Rudy’s Texas B-B-Q packs, that include four tickets and a $25 Gift Card to Rudy’s HERE and $10 college night tickets for University of Arizona and Pima Community College students HERE. On Saturday, February 17, the team is giving away Roadrunners Kachina Youth Jerseys presented by DentalPros for Kids 12 and under when they enter the arena.
Tucson Roadrunners Road Ahead: Just Stars Here In Tucson
Forward Josh Doan and goaltender Matthew Villalta concluded their All-Star Break having helped the Western Conference win the skills competition on Sunday, February 4 and the Pacific Division win the 3-on-3 tournament on Monday, February 5. It was the second year in a row the Pacific Division won the AHL All-Star Challenge. Doan helped the Division win with a goal, assist and shootout goal all coming at crucial moments in the tournament. Read Here for the full recap.
