First Round Whiteout Schedule Announced

Tucson, Arizona - The Tucson Roadrunners have announced their schedule for the First Round of the Whiteout and the 2024 Calder Cup Playoffs after officially clinching home ice advantage in the first round series on Saturday night in a 2-1 win over Colorado at Tucson Arena.

The New Kid On The Block: The Roadrunners newest forward Sam Lipkin was signed to a three-year entry level contract on Thursday, April 5 by the Arizona Coyotes and was assigned to the Tucson Roadrunners to help the playoff push. The former Quinnipiac forward impressed in his first two career AHL games in San Diego; notching an assist in his first career game paired with forward Austin Poganski and Cameron Hebig. Lipkin fills in the role similar to Josh Doan on Tucson’s playoff push last season. In 14 games played after being signed to an entry level contract by the Arizona Coyotes during the 2022-23 season. The Arizona native helped Tucson make the playoffs with six points (3 goals, 3 assists) in 14 games played; and added an assist in three games for the first round of the Calder Cup Playoffs.

Tucson Roadrunners Road Ahead: I Wish They All Could Be California

Back To California: The Roadrunners head back to California for another three-game road trip versus the Bakersfield Condors for one game on Wednesday, April 3 and the San Diego Gulls for two on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7. After their recent set of games versus California teams, the Roadrunners stand at a record of 10-4-0-0 when playing in California. Tucson’s only losing record this season comes against Bakersfield at 2-5-0-0. However, away teams in the season series are 6-1-0-0 in seven total games between the two. Tucson closes out their season series with the San Diego Gulls this weekend; having won the season series with the Anaheim Ducks affiliate on Saturday, April 30 with a 7-3 win to improve to 5-1 against the Gulls.

Josh Doan Recalled To The Arizona Coyotes

TUCSON, ARIZONA – Arizona Coyotes General Manager Bill Armstrong announced today that the Coyotes have recalled forward Josh Doan from the Tucson Roadrunners. Doan will make his NHL debut on Tuesday against the Columbus Blue Jackets at Mullett Arena.

Playing The Percentages: The Roadrunners are coming off of their best homestand of the season going 4-0 in four games and outscoring their opponents 20-6; which is the best goal differential for the Roadrunners in a homestand that is four games or more this season. This included three of those four home games where Tucson scored 10 total goals in the third period while just allowing two goals in the same span. This also included two games where the Roadrunners scored four goals in the third period; marking 14 total periods this season that Tucson has scored three goals or more in a period. In addition, when scoring three goals or more in a period the team is undefeated at 11-0-0-0. In the first nine games of March, Tucson is outscoring opponents by a 31-23 mark; which averages to a 3.44 goals for per game and 2.55 goals against per game. The highest goal differential the Roadrunners have had this season came in December where they outscored opponents 47-34 in 11 games; which averaged to 4.27 goals per game and 3.09 goals against.
