GLENDALE, ARIZONA – Arizona Coyotes President of Hockey Operations and General Manager John Chayka announced today that the Coyotes have recalled forward Mario Kempe from the Tucson Roadrunners, the club's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate. The Coyotes have also assigned center Dylan Strome to the Roadrunners.
The 29-year-old Kempe registered 14-20-34 and 28 penalty minutes (PIM) in 56 games with Vityaz Podolsk (KHL) last season. The 6-foot, 185-pound forward from Kramfors, Sweden collected 1-2-3 in one game with Tucson this season. Kempe was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the fifth round (122nd overall) in the 2007 Entry Draft.
Strome has skated in two games with the Coyotes this season and has collected an assist in nine career NHL games.
