Roadrunners fall to Wolves 4-3 Saturday night

By: Alex Kinkopf

In the final game before the All-Star break, the Roadrunners fell to the Chicago Wolves by a 4-3 score Saturday night at Tucson Arena.

It was the team’s first regulation loss against a Central Division opponent this season.

Mike Sislo opened the scoring just over nine minutes into the first period, giving the Roadrunners a 1-0 lead in notching his 13th goal of the season.

Sislo’s goal extended his point-streak to nine games, setting a new franchise record.

The Wolves responded with a pair of goals to take a 2-1 lead into the second.

Just over five minutes into the middle frame, Laurent Dauphin’s point shot deflected off of a Wolves defenseman and made its way past Chicago’s Kasimir Kaskisuo to tie the game 2-2.

The Wolves would score in the final seconds of the second period, and add another in the opening moments of the third to take a 4-2 lead.

With 11:56 left to play, John Ramage scored his first goal in a Roadrunners uniform to get cut the Wolves’ lead back to one – but that would be as close as they would get.

Adin Hill stopped 22 of the 26 shots he faced in the loss.

The Roadrunners head into the All-Star break with a 23-13-2-1 record, calculating in at a .628 win percentage, good for first place in the Pacific Division.

The team will return to action next Friday night when they begin a season-long six-game road trip against the Ontario Reign at Citizens Business Bank Arena
