Halfway there! That’s where the Roadrunners stand schedule-wise following their two games against the Chicago Wolves this weekend at Tucson Arena.
34 contests into their 68-game schedule, the team owns a 20-10-3-1 record that also speaks as a .647 win percentage -- the third highest of such in the American Hockey League.
Following Friday night’s 6-3 loss to the Wolves, the Roadrunners maintained pace with last year’s playoff-bound club on Saturday by securing their 20th win of the season in their 34th game courtesy a 3-2 come-from-behind victory.
Adam Helewka’s two third period goals in a 3:27 span helped the Roadrunners overcome the Wolves to secure said win, and with those goals, he hopped to the team lead with 11 total on the year.
Both defenseman Robbie Russo and forward Lane Pederson hit the 20-point stage this weekend; Russo assisting on Saturday’s game-tying goal, Pederson active throughout with a total of three (1G, 2A) against the Wolves.
Conor Garland now has as many goals (8) in 18 NHL games played as he does in 18 AHL games with the Roadrunners this season.
Go and get yours.

Alumni in Action:
If you’re looking for Conor Garland, look toward the net. The Roadrunners’ alum continued to produce at a spectacular pace while driving to the crease this week by scoring three goals, including one via a wondrous Alex Galchenyuk feed to give the Coyotes a third period lead in their eventual 4-3 overtime victory over the Vancouver Canucks Thursday night at Rogers Arena.
Highlight of the Week:
While the Junior Roadrunners' 8U Orange Team established and maintained offensive zone pressure during the first intermission Friday night at Tucson Arena, #7 found a seam to deliver a pass out front, and with a step on surrounding defenders, skated to his own pass and fired a shot through traffic to find the back of the net. Exceptional awareness.
