Regulation time did not suffice in either of the Roadrunners’ two games played last week, both of their contests against the Cleveland Monsters needing strings of overtime to decide results.
The club was on the losing end Friday night, but responded with a win Saturday evening; they earned three of a possible four points during the weekend and are without a regulation loss (6-0-2-0) since October 7th’s home opener.
The Roadrunners’ goaltending tandem of Adin Hill and Hunter Miska combined to make 48 saves on 52 shots during the weekend. Hill stopped 27 of 29 faced in his first start back with the team Friday; Miska 21 of 23 in his fifth start of the season Saturday.
Emerson Etem played in his 300th professional game Friday night. Adam Clendening made his Roadrunners debut and finished the weekend series against Cleveland with a plus-two rating.
The team is currently in first place in the Pacific Division, and in the league entirely with a 6-1-2-0 record and a .778 win percentage.

Hunter Miska, who received his first NHL recall last Sunday, dressed in two games for the Coyotes, serving as Scott Wedgewood’s back-up on Monday night in Philadelphia and Tuesday night in Detroit.

Highlight of the Week:
Nick Merkley hops on a botched pass attempt from Cleveland Brad Thiessen to walk in alone and score on an empty net to seal a 3-2 overtime victory for the Roadrunners on Saturday night.
Quote of the Week:
“He’s learning how to play like a pro. He’s been very consistent for us lately. He’s learning how to get on pucks, how to hound pucks. Merks is working every day in practice, and he’s a guy that really wants to get up to that big club, and he’s trying to do everything he can to get there.” – Mike Van Ryn, on Nick Merkley
