Notes

Pregame:

  • Adin Hill leads the Roadrunners onto the ice for warm-ups. He'll be making his 15th start of the season. He stopped 16 of 19 shots faced in 31:21 minutes in relief of Hunter Miska last night in Ontario. 
  • Nick Merkley (upper-body) and Mario Kempe (illness) will not play tonight.
  • Trevor Cheek returns to the lineup for the first time since December 31; Ryan Kujawinski the first time since January 5.
  • Jens Looke, who is riding a four-game point streak, totaling five (1G, 4A) during that span, slides up to fill vacancies, playing to the right of Lawson Crouse and Dylan Strome on the first line.

First Period:

  • The Gulls don't register their first shot on goal until the 11:07 mark of the period.
  • San Diego scores on its second shot of the game on a point shot deflected above the crease. They up their lead to 2-0 with 2:24 left to play in the period.
  • The Roadrunners kill off both penalties taken during the period; outshoot the Gulls by a 9-8 count.

Second Period:

  • Dylan Strome drives home his 15th goal of the season on the opening shift of the period.
  • Less than two minutes later, Laurent Dauphin scores his first goal back with the Roadrunners. Daniel Maggio records his first point in a Roadrunners uniform in picking up the assist.
  • Adin Hill plays spectacular in the second, stopping all 16 shots fired his way.
  • The Roadrunners will start the third period on a 5-on-3 penalty kill.
