HOLIDAY RETURN: Tonight marks the fifth of 12 meetings with the Gulls this season, and the third of six scheduled visits to San Diego’s Valley View Casino Center. The Roadrunners are playing the first of a three-game road trip; they’re coming off of a 2-1 loss to the Stockton Heat on Saturday night. The Gulls are playing the only of a one-game stint at home; they’re coming off of a 4-3 win over the Ontario Reign on Saturday.
ROAD WAYS: Starting tonight, the Roadrunners will play six of their next eight games away from home. In nine games played in opposing buildings so far this season, the team has compiled a 5-2-1-1 record, including a 0-1-0-1 mark at San Diego’s Valley View Casino Center. Tucson has lost its past four games on home ice; can they rebound with a road victory tonight?
ECLIPSING TWO: The Roadrunners have been held to a single goal in each of their previous two games, just the third and fourth instances where the club hasn’t scored at least two regulation goals through 25 games this season. Of the club’s five losses in their last six games, they have failed to score more than two goals in each of those defeats. The club is averaging four goals scored against the Gulls this season, having potted a total of 16 in four match-ups; can they eclipse the two-goal mark tonight?
PROJECTED LINEUP: The team held a morning skate ahead of tonight’s game at the Valley View Casino Center. Per club policy, specifics regarding the team’s lineup will not be published until 6:00 PM this evening.

LOSING LAWSON: The Roadrunners will be without forward Lawson Crouse tonight, who was recalled to the Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday. Crouse, in 17 games with Tucson this season, registered 10 points (3G, 7A) as a mainstay on the team’s first line. He recorded two points (1G, 1A) in three games against the Gulls this season.
HOT IN SAN DIEGO: The Gulls enter the evening riding a five-game win streak, and have won seven of their past eight. San Diego has won each of its previous three games on home ice. The Roadrunners are 2-5-0-1 all-time in games played in San Diego, and have not won in the Gulls’ building since February 18, 2017. Can they snap San Diego’s streak with a win tonight?
THE LAST TIME AROUND: In the teams’ previous meeting on November 22 at Tucson Arena, the Roadrunners defeated the Gulls by a 5-0 score. Dylan Strome (2G, 2A) and Nick Merkley (1G, 2A) led the Roadrunners in scoring; Adin Hill stopped all 29 shots he faced to record his second shutout of the season and the fourth of his pro career. It was the Roadrunners’ first victory against the Gulls on home ice in franchise history.
WHITE AND AWAY: The Roadrunners will wear their white uniforms as visitors for the first time this season, and will do so for the rest of the campaign. They are 8-5-1-0 in 14 games when wearing their white kits.
