The Rundown
The Roadrunners had just one game during Week 2 of the AHL regular season and boy did they ever make it count.
An eight-spot in the goal department Saturday in Southern California paved the way for the largest margin of victory in the franchise’s now four-year history, proving victorious by half of a dozen for the very first time.
Forward Lane Pederson also etched his way into the Roadrunners record book, becoming the first player in team history to record multiple hat tricks in a Tucson sweater. The third-year pro notched his first in the team’s 3-2 win over San Jose on March 23, 2019.
By the end of the night, 13 of the 18 dressed skaters for Tucson made their way to the score sheet in the rout, including newcomers Beau Bennett and Andy Miele.
Rookie forward Nate Schnarr made some personal history of his own as well, collecting his first pro point by assisting on Dysin Mayo’s first goal of the season.
While we’re at it, Adin Hill’s 13 of 15 effort earned him his first win of the season.

The first multi-goal game of the season for the Arizona Coyotes? That honor now belongs to none other than Mr. Conor Garland after #83 deposited a pair in the team’s 4-1 win over the Vegas Golden Knights Thursday.
Highlight Of The Week
The first tally was undoubtedly the prettiest when it came to Lane Pederson’s hat trick Saturday night in Ontario. Just two seconds after a five-on-three ended, #18 wound up and unleashed a one-time setup from Robbie Russo to put Tucson on top 3-0 at the time. Steve Potvin’s power play unit finished 3/6 on the night, in total. Not bad.
