Friday Blog: Countdown To Face-Off: 7 Days
Under a week until the puck drops on the regular season as the Roadrunners start a “road series” against San Jose at Tucson Arena Friday night; as the Barracuda were not cleared to play home games in their county when the schedule was released. And as I said Wednesday night on the broadcast: a February road trip to Tucson? I’ll take it and I think I’ll stay at my house too. Speaking of playing at home, how about Dusty playing Bingo with Special Olympics Arizona Tuesday?
The “road series” will be closed to the public, but you can watch the game with Roadrunners fans as Dusty’s Drive-In returns. CLICK HERE to buy tickets.
Great stuff as always from Roadrunners Head Coach Steve Potvin after Wednesday’s preseason game as he also talked about how great it is to have Ivan Prosvetov between the pipes. He also reminded us that three games in four days during the preseason is not an easy feat.
Steve also made an appearance with our friends Steve Rivera and Jay Gonzales Tuesday for Eye on the Ball on Fox Sports 1450 AM. CLICK HERE TO LISTEN and go to the 19:30 minute mark.
Preseason notes so far. How about the special teams? Tucson is 3/10 on the power-play and 12/12 on the penalty-kill. Lane Pederson has two of those power-play markers. His linemate Kevin Roy has assisted on two of the three power-play goals and has four assists in three preseason games.
As we had snow in Tucson Monday night and Tuesday, we asked for pictures of your backyard rinks, ha, and we found a winner, good work David Fry.
Lots of fun stuff next week. So much stuff, don’t go anywhere, talk to you soon.
Love ya,
