Game Recap: Tucson (9) at San Diego (4)
Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Roadrunners kicked off a three-game road trip over four nights beginning on Saturday with their second meeting of the season against the San Diego Gulls. The Roadrunners came out firing to take a 3-0 lead over the AHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks in the first four minutes, before eventually securing a 9-4 victory at the Pechanga Arena to improve to 12-8-4-0. 13 different Roadrunners notched a point as Tucson matched a franchise record for goals in a game, while setting a franchise record for goals in a period with six scores in the opening frame. Goaltender Ivan Prosvetov set a season high for saves with 39 of 43 shots turned aside. The Roadrunners will continue their road trip with a pair of games against the Coachella Valley Firebirds Sunday, December 18 and Tuesday, December 20, before returning home to face the Gulls on Thursday, December 22 and Friday, December 23.
Game #24 – Roadrunners at Gulls
The 11-8-4-0 Tucson Roadrunners head out on the road for three games over the next four nights, beginning on Saturday with the second matchup of the season against the San Diego Gulls. Three of Tucson’s next five games will be against the AHL Affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, as the I-8 Border Rivals will meet in Tucson for the first times this year on Thursday, December 22 and Friday, December 23. The Roadrunners have a three-game winning streak over the Gulls dating back to the final two games of the 2021-2022 season in Tucson.
Game Recap: Coachella Valley (4) at Tucson (3)
Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Roadrunners faced off with the Coachella Valley Firebirds Wednesday night to wrap up a four-game home stand at the Tucson Arena. The AHL affiliate of the Seattle Kraken recorded a three-goal third period to come away with a 4-3 victory, splitting the series with Tucson after the Roadrunners won the series opener 7-2 Tuesday night. Goaltender Jon Gillies made the start in net for the Roadrunners and recorded 25 saves, while forward Ryan McGregor earned his first multiple-point night of the season. Tucson falls to 11-8-4-0 on the year and will head out on the road for three games in four nights in California with a contest against the San Diego Gulls Saturday, December 17, followed by another two-game set with Coachella Valley Sunday and Tuesday.
Game #23 – Firebirds at Roadrunners
The 11-7-4-0 Tucson Roadrunners close out their four-game home stand Wednesday night with the second of two games against the Coachella Valley Firebirds after a dominant 7-2 win in the series opener Tuesday. The contest marks the final meeting between the Roadrunners and Firebirds at the Tucson Arena this year, with four upcoming matchups that will take place in Coachella Valley. The series finale with the AHL affiliate of the Seattle Kraken is the Roadrunners second Kids Free Wednesday of the season, with all kids 12 and under receiving a free ticket with a paying adult at the Tucson Arena Box Office.

Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Roadrunners opened a two-game midweek set with the Coachella Valley Firebirds Tuesday night at the Tucson Arena. After falling behind 2-0 early in the contest, the Roadrunners rallied for seven unanswered goals and a 7-2 win over the AHL affiliate of the Seattle Kraken. The victory was highlighted by a Mike Carcone hat trick, as well as a franchise record of five power-play goals by the Roadrunners. Ivan Prosvetov earned the win as the starting backstop for Tucson, as he stopped 15 of only 17 shots faced. The Roadrunners and Firebirds will wrap up the series Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m., before Tucson embarks on a quick three-game road trip that includes two contests in Coachella Valley.
Game #22 – Firebirds at Roadrunners
The 10-7-4-0 Tucson Roadrunners enter the back half of their current four-game home stand Tuesday night, as they’ll take on the Coachella Valley Firebirds at 6:30 p.m. at the Tucson Arena. The two-game set with the AHL affiliate of the Seattle Kraken Tuesday and Wednesday marks their second and final trip to the Old Pueblo in their inaugural season. The Roadrunners are coming off of a weekend series against the Ontario Reign that saw Tucson have their second and third consecutive games go past regulation. Coachella Valley’s last contest also went into overtime, a 5-4 loss to Bakersfield that snapped a five-game winning streak. Tuesday night is also the second $2 Twos-Day of the year, with $2 Popcorn and $2 Draft Beers for sale inside the Tucson Arena and select tickets available at half-price at the Tucson Arena Box Office.

Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Roadrunners wrapped up a weekend series with the Ontario Reign Saturday night with their third consecutive contest to go past regulation. Like Friday’s series opener, Tucson picked up a standings point as the Reign netted the game-winning overtime strike for a final score of 3-2. A crowd of 5,171 was on hand at the Tucson Arena to toss thousands of stuffed animals onto the ice after Travis Barron’s second-period score. Ivan Prosvetov started in net for the Roadrunners and matched his season high for saves with 38. Tucson moved to 10-7-4-0 on the season with the overtime defeat, marking the first time since January 2018 that the Roadrunners had taken three-straight games past regulation.
Game #21 – Reign at Roadrunners
The 10-7-3-0 Tucson Roadrunners wrap up their weekend set against Ontario Reign Saturday night at the Tucson Arena. The Reign took the series opener with a 4-3 overtime victory, marking the second-straight game to go past regulation for the Roadrunners. Saturday’s game is also the fan-favorite Teddy Bear Toss Night, with fans encouraged to bring stuffed animals to throw onto the ice after Tucson’s first goal of the contest. The series finale with the AHL affiliate of the Ontario Reign will be televised live in Southern Arizona on The CW Tucson, with Tucson.com’s Brett Fera joining “Voice of the Roadrunners” Adrian Denny for the second of six scheduled television broadcasts during the 2022-2023 season.

Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Roadrunners opened a four-game home stand Friday night against the Ontario Reign, AHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings. The Roadrunners and Reign traded goals through regulation before a power-play strike by Ontario secured a 4-3 overtime win for the visiting team, as Tucson earned a standings point in overtime for the second-straight game. Tucson Captain Adam Cracknell factored into all three of the Roadrunners goals with his first three-point night of the season, and third-straight multi-point outing. The Roadrunners fall to 10-7-3-0 and will wrap up the weekend set with Ontario Saturday night at 7 p.m. Ahead of Saturday’s Teddy Bear Toss, hundreds of toys were donated as fans entered Tucson Arena Friday night that Mascot Dusty will deliver to Banner Health’s Diamond Children’s Medical Center on Monday. Saturday’s series finale will also be televised live in Southern Arizona on The CW Tucson, with Tucson.com’s Brett Fera joining “Voice of the Roadrunners” Adrian Denny for the broadcast.
Game #20 – Reign at Roadrunners
The 10-7-2-0 Tucson Roadrunners are back at the Tucson Arena Friday night to kick off a four-game home stand, beginning with a two-game set against the Ontario Reign. Tucson and the AHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings will meet for the third time this season at 7 p.m. to open the series. The Roadrunners are back home after a five-game road trip that included a stop in Ontario for a pair of matchups at the Toyota Arena Friday, November 26 and Saturday, November 27. While Tucson has been off since Sunday, the Reign are coming off of a 3-1 loss on their home ice to the Henderson Silver Knights on Wednesday, December 7.

San Jose, California – The Tucson Roadrunners faced off with the San Jose Barracuda Sunday night for the final outing of their five-game road trip. The Roadrunners erased a late 3-2 deficit to force overtime, but the AHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks netted the game winner for a 4-3 victory in the series finale from the Tech CU Arena. Adam Cracknell (1g 1a), Mike Carcone (1g 1a) and Cam Dineen (2a) all tallied multiple points for Tucson, while goaltender Ivan Prosvetov recorded 28 saves. The Roadrunners finish the five-game road trip with a 2-2-1-0 record and will return home for a four-game home stand at 10-7-2-0 overall on the season.
Game #19 – Roadrunners at Barracuda
The 10-7-1-0 Tucson Roadrunners wrap up their five-game road trip and weekend set with the San Jose Barracuda Sunday afternoon at the Tech CU Arena in San Jose. The matchup will be the sixth meeting between Tucson and the AHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks this year, with the Roadrunners currently up three wins to two in the season series. After Sunday, Tucson and San Jose won’t meet again until the final two games of the 2022-2023 campaign on April 14 and 15 at the Tucson Arena. The Barracuda took the series opener at the Tech CU Arena Saturday night by a score of 4-2 for their first series-opening win against Tucson this year. Sunday’s game also represents the Roadrunners second game in the last seven days, while San Jose will be taking their home ice for the fourth time in six days.
