Game Recap: Henderson (3) at Tucson (4)

Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Roadrunners returned home to kick off a four-game home stand Saturday night, as they hosted the Henderson Silver Knights for the first of two weekend matchups at the Tucson Arena. 5,502 fans, the largest crowd since November 9, 2019 witnessed a back-and-forth battle that saw the Roadrunners come away with a 4-3 victory in the final seconds of regulation. Mike Carcone netted the game winning goal with 15 seconds left to play, becoming the fourth Roadrunner on the night to record a multiple-point performance. On the other end, goaltender Ivan Prosvetov earned his second-straight win at home as he stopped 23 shots.

Game #41: Henderson at Tucson

The Tucson Roadrunners return home for the first of two weekend series at the Tucson Arena. They’ll kick off the home stand by hosting the Henderson Silver Knights Saturday and Sunday as part of Kids Weekend. The first 1,500 kids 12 and under into the building Saturday night will receive a Kachina Youth jersey courtesy of the DentalPros. The Silver Knights take the trip to Tucson for the second time this season, after rounding out the Roadrunners final home stand of 2021 with a pair of games December 14 and 15.

Game Recap: Tucson (1) at Colorado (8)

Loveland, Colorado – The Tucson Roadrunners wrapped up their six-game road trip Saturday night with the second-straight matchup against the Colorado Eagles. After jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first period of Friday’s 3-1 win, the Roadrunners fell by a score of 8-1 to an Eagles team hungry for a win having dropped three-straight games entering Saturday. Goaltenders David Tendeck and Josef Korenar combined for 33 saves, as Tucson split the third and final series of the trip. Tyson Empey scored the goal for the Roadrunners in the second period, his second time lighting the lamp in his rookie AHL campaign.

Game #40: Tucson at Colorado

The Tucson Roadrunners wrap up their six-game road trip Saturday night as they’ll take on the Colorado Eagles for the second-straight matchup at the Budweiser Events Center. The Roadrunners took the first meeting of the weekend Friday night by a score of 3-1, with all three Tucson goals scored in the first period. Forward Travis Barron set a new season team-best for fastest goal to begin a game when he scored 1:11 into the first period against his former team, beating out Victor Soderstrom’s opening goal on January 4 against the Stockton Heat by 18 seconds. Before Friday’s contest, forward Stephen Baylis was called-up from the Rapid City Rush for the second time this season and appeared in his third game of the 2021-2022 campaign. Baylis has 19 goals with the Rush this season and played alongside Cedric Lacroix and Stephen Harper in Friday’s victory.

Game Recap: Tucson (3) at Colorado (1)

Loveland, Colorado – The Tucson Roadrunners opened the final weekend of their six-game road trip with a 3-1 victory over the Colorado Eagles at the Budweiser Events Center. Tucson held the hometown Eagles scoreless for the first 55:43 of the contest, backed by 24 of goaltender David Tendeck’s 26 total saves. Matias Maccelli, Cam Dineen, and Mike Carcone each recorded multiple-point performances in the first 17:08 of the opening frame, as the Roadrunners jumped to a 3-0 lead starting with their fastest goal to start a game this season 1:11 in by Travis Barron. The Roadrunners added goals later in the period by Ben McCartney and Cam Dineen, as they led for the final 58:49 of the game. Goaltender David Tendeck made his first start in the AHL, stopping 26 shots and earning his first win in the American Hockey League.

Game #39: Tucson at Colorado

The Tucson Roadrunners will reach the third and final stop of their six-game road trip Friday night, as they’ll take on the Colorado Eagles for the first of two back-to-back contests at the Budweiser Events Center. This weekend marks the Roadrunners second trip to Loveland on the season, after an identical pair of matchups Friday, December 3 and Saturday, December 4. Tucson took the most recent series opener in Colorado by a score of 4-1, with power-play goals by Ben McCartney and JJ Moser in the first period.

Game Recap: Tucson (0) at Abbotsford (5)

Abbotsford, British Columbia – The Tucson Roadrunners took on the Abbotsford Canucks for the fourth and final time on the season Wednesday night at the Abbotsford Centre in British Columbia. The Canucks came away with a 5-0 victory over the Roadrunners to split the season series at two wins apiece, with the home team winning each matchup. Goaltender David Tendeck made his AHL debut in relief for Tucson and stopped all 17 shots faced.

Game #38: Tucson at Abbotsford

The Tucson Roadrunners are back in Abbotsford to face the Canucks for the second time this week Wednesday night at the Abbotsford Centre. The game will mark the final meeting between Tucson and Abbotsford in the Canucks inaugural season, with the Roadrunners currently holding a 2-1 advantage on the year. Wednesday’s contest in British Columbia is the fourth of six games on Tucson’s current road trip, which will conclude with a pair of matchups against the Colorado Eagles Friday and Saturday. Joining the goaltender crew for the Roadrunners is backstop David Tendeck from the Rapid City Rush, as Ivan Prosvetov has been recalled by the Arizona Coyotes for their own road trip in the Pacific Northwest. Tendeck was drafted by the Coyotes in the sixth round (#158 overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft.

Game Recap: Tucson (5) at Abbotsford (8)

Abbotsford, British Columbia – The Tucson Roadrunners reached the second stop of their six-game road trip, as they visited the Abbotsford Canucks in British Columbia for the first time Monday night. The two teams combined for 13 total goals on 72 shots as the Canucks defended their home ice with a 8-5 victory, their first win against the Roadrunners in franchise history. Cam Dineen, Jan Jenik, Ben McCartney, Travis Barron and Matias Maccelli all notched multiple-point performances, with Maccelli (4a) recording four points for the third time in his rookie campaign.

Game #37: Tucson at Abbotsford

The Tucson Roadrunners continue their road trip north of the border Monday night when they take on the Abbotsford Canucks for the first of two midweek matchups at the Abbotsford Centre. Tucson will look to make it three wins in their last four contests, as well as remain undefeated on the season against the Canucks in their inaugural season. The Roadrunners are coming off a 5-4 road victory against the San Diego Gulls on Saturday night that saw three different players record three points.

San Diego, California – The Tucson Roadrunners concluded their weekend series with the San Diego Gulls Saturday night at the Pechanga Arena, defeating their I-8 Border Rivals by a score of 5-4. Forward Mike Carcone extended his team lead for goals with his third-career AHL hat trick, matching his goal total from last season at 15. Matias Maccelli (1g 2a) and Cam Dineen (3a) also put up three-point performances in the victory, while Tucson goaltender Josef Korenar set a season-high for most saves in a win with 30 shots turned aside.

Game #36: Tucson at San Diego

The Tucson Roadrunners round out the weekend with the second of two games against their I-8 Border Rivals, the San Diego Gulls. Tucson will look to even up the season series at two wins apiece after the home team Gulls won the series opener by a score of 5-3 Friday night. That game saw each squad take just two trips to the man-advantage, after a combined 16 power-play opportunities over a pair of matchups at the Tucson Arena on October 29 and 30.
