Tucson Junior Roadrunners To Host Fundraiser At Hooters Thursday

Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Junior Roadrunners, in partnership with the AHL’s Tucson Roadrunners, will host a team fundraiser on Thursday, May 25 at Hooters at 7280 East Broadway Blvd from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Roadrunners Mascot Dusty will also be in attendance from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Roadrunners To Host School Day Game In 2023-24

Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Roadrunners, in partnership with Stantec and the Pima County School Superintendent’s Office, are excited to host a School Day Game for local students during the 2023-24 season.  Details for the game including date, time and ticketing will be announced once the 2023-24 regular schedule is finalized and announced in July.

Mike Carcone To Represent Team Canada At 2023 IIHF World Championship

Calgary, Alberta – Tucson Roadrunners forward and the AHL’s leading scorer for the 2022-23 season Mike Carcone will represent Team Canada at the 2023 IIHF World Championship. The annual tournament begins Friday, May 12, and lasts until Sunday, May 28. Team Canada will hold their Training Camp in Budapest, Hungary before tournament play is set to take place in Tampere, Finland and Riga, Latvia.

Roadrunners Announce 2023 Opening Night

Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Roadrunners have announced their 2023 Opening Night at the Tucson Arena on Saturday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m. MST. The game will be the first chance to see the 2023-2024 Roadrunners on their home ice, with a team introduction set to take place before the opening face-off. The full 2023-24 Regular Season Schedule will be announced in July.

The Tucson Roadrunners finished the 2022-2023 season on Sunday, falling to the Coachella Valley Firebirds in a decisive Game Three in the First Round of the Calder Cup Playoffs. The Roadrunners made the playoffs by increasing their win total by seven from the 2021-2022 campaign, the biggest jump of any team in the AHL Pacific Division. Tucson closed out the year with an even or better record against seven of their nine division opponents, including five of the other six who qualified for the postseason. The 2022-2023 Roadrunners were a high-scoring team, as their 219 goals scored were the most in franchise history and the fourth most in the Pacific Division. Tucson also led the league with 1,271 penalty minutes, and set AHL single-game highs this season in goals (9), penalty minutes (86), major penalties (5), first-period goals (6), first-period shots on goal (24), and power-play goals (5).

Main Event To Host Roadrunners Playoff Watch Parties

Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Roadrunners have partnered with Main Event at 4700 South Landing Way to be the Official Playoff Watch Party Headquarters for all Roadrunners away playoff games. The First Round of the 2023 Calder Cup Playoffs begins on Wednesday, April 19, at 7:00 p.m. MST as Tucson will take on the Coachella Valley Firebirds in a best-of-three series.

Tucson Roadrunners Road Ahead: First Round Against The Firebirds

The Tucson Roadrunners will head on the road to take on the Coachella Valley Firebirds in the First Round of the 2023 Calder Cup Playoffs. All three games of the best-of-three series will take place at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, where the Roadrunners and Firebirds previously met for four contests out of the eight-game season series. Tucson became the first team to defeat the AHL affiliate of the Seattle Kraken in their new home on December 20, 2022 with a 3-2 win that saw forward Mike Carcone factor into all three Roadrunners goals for a three-point performance (2g 1a). Carcone led both teams in the season series with seven goals and four assists for 11 total points in eight games played. His seven goals against the Firebirds were the most by any Roadrunners skater against a single opponent on the year.

Roadrunners To Face Coachella Valley Firebirds In First Round Of 2023 Calder Cup Playoffs

Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Roadrunners will take on the Coachella Valley Firebirds in a best-of-three series to open the 2023 Calder Cup Playoffs. All three games will take place on the road at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California, where Tucson previously became the first team to defeat the Firebirds in their new Arena on December 20, 2022.

Coyotes Recall Michael Kesselring, Roadrunners Sign Michael Lombardi

Tucson, Arizona – The Arizona Coyotes and Tucson Roadrunners announced Thursday that the Coyotes have recalled defenseman Michael Kesselring from Tucson, and the Roadrunners have signed forward Michael Lombardi to an Amateur Tryout Contract (ATO). Kesselring joins the Arizona lineup ahead of their season finale Thursday night against the Vancouver Canucks, while Lombardi comes to Tucson from Quinnipiac University, where he and the Bobcats captured their first ever National Championship with a 3-2 overtime win against top-seeded Minnesota on Saturday, April 8.
