10 January Home Games Open This Weekend

Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Roadrunners, AHL affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes, open 10 January home games with a weekend of action against the Colorado Eagles Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. from Tucson Arena.

Tucson Roadrunners Road Ahead: Closing Out The Calendar Year

The 14-10-4-0 Roadrunners head to Texas for the final two games of the 2022 calendar year Friday and Saturday against the Texas Stars. The series is the first meeting of the season between Tucson and Texas, with a total of four games scheduled against the Roadrunners and the AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars this year. Tucson earned a standings point in three of four matchups with Texas last season, finishing with a 2-1-1-0 head-to-head record. The Stars are currently atop the AHL’s Central Division at 17-7-3-2 and lead the league in goals scored with 109.

Tucson Roadrunners Road Ahead: Merry Midweek Hockey

The 12-9-4-0 Roadrunners wrap up their quick three-game road trip Tuesday night with the second of two matchups against the Coachella Valley Firebirds. Tucson will look to finish the trip with a 2-1 record after the Firebirds won the first ever contest at Acrisure Arena on Sunday, December 18 by a score of 4-3. Tuesday coverage begins with Roadrunners Happy Hour from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by Roadrunners Warm-Up at 7:45 p.m. After Tuesday’s game in Coachella Valley, the Roadrunners return home for a pair of games against the San Diego Gulls before Christmas on Thursday, December 22 and Friday, December 23. Tucson opened their current road stint by defeating the Gulls by a score of 9-4 at the Pechanga Arena, as the Roadrunners set and matched several team records in the process.

Tucson Roadrunners Road Ahead: Week For The Birds

The Roadrunners four-game home stand continues Tuesday night at the Tucson Arena with the first of two midweek matchups with the Coachella Valley Firebirds. Tucson has faced off with the AHL affiliate of the Seattle Kraken twice this season on their home ice after a weekend set November 11 and 12. The 10-7-4-0 Roadrunners have earned a standings point in each of their last three contests, while the Firebirds come to town with a 5-0-1-0 record in their last six outings.

The Roadrunners return home for a four-game home stand at the Tucson Arena beginning Friday, December 9 against the Ontario Reign. Tucson and the Reign are neck-and-neck in the AHL’s Pacific Division standings at 10-7-2-0 and 11-6-0-1, respectively. Tucson and Ontario met twice on the Roadrunners recent five-game road trip, splitting a weekend series at the Toyota Arena. Following the two-game set with Ontario December 9 and 10, Tucson will welcome the Coachella Valley Firebirds into town once again for a pair of midweek matchups Tuesday, December 13 and Wednesday, December 14. The series marks the second of two trips to Tucson for the AHL affiliate of the Seattle Kraken, after a pair of games at the Tucson Arena to open the Roadrunners previous home stand on November 11 and 12.

Tucson Roadrunners Road Ahead: Back With The Barracuda

The Tucson Roadrunners improved to 10-6-1-0 as they opened their five-game stretch on the road with consecutive wins against the San Diego Gulls and Ontario Reign, each representing their first meetings on the season. The Roadrunners won both games by scores of 3-1, capped off by empty-net goals by J.S. Dea and Adam Cracknell. Tucson opened the scoring in both outings to improve to 8-1-1-0 on the year when netting the first goal, as Ben McCartney and Travis Barron lit the lamp in consecutive first periods for their third goals of the season.

Tucson Roadrunners Road Ahead: November Concludes In California

The 8-5-1-0 Roadrunners embark on a five-game road trip across the state of California, beginning on Wednesday, November 23, against the San Diego Gulls. The Roadrunners and Gulls will reignite their rivalry with the first of eight meetings on the season, with Tucson having won each of their last two matchups to close out the 2021-2022 campaign. San Diego enters the week with a record of 6-10-0-0 after winning their last contest on Saturday 6-1 over the Grand Rapids Griffins. After the midweek matchup with San Diego, the Roadrunners will head to Ontario to face the Reign for the first two times this season Saturday, November 26 and Sunday, November 27. Entering the week, the Roadrunners and Reign are tied for the second-most points in the AHL’s Pacific Division with near-identical records of 8-5-1-0 for Tucson and 8-5-0-1 for Ontario.
